Run gatsby-node with ts-node? about gatsby-typescript HOT 2 CLOSED

Ohhh no, I haven't thought about this, thank you for bringing this up!

As far as I understand, babel plays an important role in gatsby (removing graphql queries for example), and by using ts-node, we won't be able to feed transpiled .ts to gatsby's babel pipeline. It looks like the way ts-node works is that it's either all or nothing, it's not possible to pick and choose which files to be used by ts-node.

Another (maybe related) struggle with using typescript for gatsby config files is that they are in different environments. In my projects, I set up multiple tsconfig.json to deal with files in src, gatsby-node & jest; then transpile gatsby-node before each run. It's a bit of a pain right now.

@FrobtheBuilder So it's actually possible! But we have to create a gatsby-node.js that import ts-node & point it to gatsby-node.ts, if I understand correctly. Also have to repeat this to every other config file, so I think a cleaner approach would be to build config files with tsc on preInit :(
