I'm currently using the stats api to get the Recent, YTD and All Time stats, so all the calulations are handled on the strava side.

I would need to pull all the activities over the periods (last 7 or 30 days) and loop through them to get those stats.
Should be doable, when I have a bit of time to get to it.
