is there an alternate way to generate this code?  I have been experiencing the 
same issue and I need to get the map back up and running on my site :)

My issue seemed to be fixed by going back to the previous version of Google 
docs - the new version doesn't work with the above, but the old version does -

@afinta:  That appears only to work if you have a copy created in the previous 
version of docs

Is there a method to achieve the same thing with it? 
It doesn't make sense why it does not work - stepping through the code, the 
sample spreadsheet, and one I've created make the same rss/atom data - instead 
it gets stuck at loading like above.

This is the first and best result in google search that I originally found for 
achieving a list of items being visible in google maps... Being stuck all day 
to find out that there is a obscure problem like this is tricky.
