Is this still an issue?
from coreos-assembler.
I originally opened this so that the /run/motd.d/40_console-login-helper-messages.motd
would always be shown when using cosa run
, so we can check the generated MOTD is displaying as it should
without needing to ssh
in. However, the better way to check would be ssh
in and see what the MOTD is.
I'm not sure if it'd be useful outside of cosa run
(e.g. configured in the distro config), to show generated MOTDs for login
. There isn't currently a way to pass directories (in which case the better thing would be give it MOTD_FILE=/etc/motd:/run/motd.d
). Since there isn't a clear benefit (I think) to showing only /run/motd.d/40_console-login-helper-messages.motd
for cosa run
only, I'm good with closing this.
