Doubt you can do this as the camera element is actually not in the webview DOM

Hey thanks for the reply @DaCardinal ... do you have any suggestions on how I can solve the issue of the preview window working on various form factors?

Easy answer probably pretty hefty coding solution. You'll need to embed the camera in a cordova webview to be able to have that sort of interaction.Take a look at this http://docs.phonegap.com/en/2.3.0/guide_cordova-webview_android.md.html#Embedding%20Cordova%20WebView%20on%20Android

Hrmm my entire app is Cordova, and the app itself will need to communicate with the preview window of course, so I'm not sure well that approach will work. I'll investigate though thanks a bunch!
