Ok, so I've narrowed this down to an issue with catching interrupt signals in socialize:server-presence which this package depends on. Catching them is an integral part of how the package works so removing them isn't an option. In actuality though they are not necessary when in development because there will only ever be a single server running and if it dies and restarts, then a full cleanup process will be triggered and everything should proceed normally. What I think can be done is to only catch these signals in production so that way we aren't potentially catching signals for the build tool's process, which I think may be causing this behavior.
