Are you using the git repository or CocoaPods as source? If you use the git repository try to switch to branch 1.3.x until you are using a Xcode version that ships with iOS 8 SDK. If you are using CocoaPods try to use an older version ;).

So using the Xcode beta version will solve this, and not crash my app on devices with iOS7?

RMDateSelectionViewController requires iOS 8 SDK only at compilation time, not at runtime.
At runtime iOS 7 still is enough. Everything else is a bug ;)
