Are you using Xcode 6 Beta 6 and iOS 8 beta 5?
I experienced the issue you describe on iOS 8 Beta 5. The same issue is not present on earlier iOS version. This lead me to believe in an iOS 8 bug. As the iOS development is progressing this gets less probable. But I think I'll still wait for iOS 8 GM to see if the bug is still present there.
Do you have any solution to the issue?

Yes I'm using iOS 8 beta 5.

Ok this was easier than I thought. Just needed to update the initial frame of the window.
One bug is still present: When a new window is presented the status bar is shown. Right after the window has been dismissed the status bar is hidden again.
