Solved. MDSL generator generates protected regions for data types, endpoints, providers, and clients now:
By moving an object into the corresponding protected region it will not be overwritten if the generator is called again. Everything else, outside the protected regions, is re-generated.
Note: Initially you have to generate new MDSL files if you want to get the protected regions. The generator does not add them to existing files which do not contain them. This brings the advantage that the user can remove them if he/she does not need it. Alternatively you can add them manually. (ensure the start and end comments are correct; see screenshot)
