Not sure how good they could be but I would like to propose some definitions for Dietary fiber:

1. A plant material that resists enzymatic digestion in humans and other monogastric species

2. A plant material that resists digestion in the enzymatic digestive system in humans and other monogastric species

3. A plant material which has resistance to enzymatic digestion in humans and other monogastric species

I got the human and monogastric species concept from Mößeler A., & Kamphues J. 2017.

We think this definition could be more appropriate for CDNO, because plant inheres in the whole ontology and carbohydrate is the "genus" of this definition, according to Seppälä et al., 2017.

It is also interesting that some lignin can be considered sources of dietary fiber.
