This is seen as a common behaviour of control elements/info boxes that lay over video content.
If you want to read the texts you can move around the mouse pointer or simply pause the video. Then the controls and the info box is locked and won't fade out.

Nevertheless: If you want longer fade out times take a look at app/assets/stylesheets/page_types/video.css.scss and search for the css-selector ".fade-out"
There you can customize the delay until fading out (the transition delay rules) and the fade out length itself (transition rules).

Yes, I have noticed that moving the mouse around re-displays the player elements. But that's not really pleasing for reading. Right now I would editors suggest not to add long text to the player element.

A pin button for the player would still be a cool feature.

In a way the pause button is the pin button at the moment... I'd argue that most videos are also too short to warrant another button. If others express the wish for this feature though, I'd be willing to take a pull request if the feature can still be deactivated easily.
