You can't do this in html
Chrome specifically has desktop notification support , but I'm not aware of any other browsers that implement it.
I don't really think taking advantage of those would fit with the rest of the library

Yes, it is possible. But only in some browsers. For now, I'll put this on the wish list and evaluate as other browsers support it too.

Update: Firefox, Chrome and Safari support this functionality (http://caniuse.com/notifications).

While it's really cool to see in action, I believe that your options for customization are reduced. You can get callbacks such as shown, closed and clicked though.

This is a neat feature, but there are APIs for these browsers to do this. Not something I think toastr should do. closing
