Thanks, @nebhale. We have a story in our backlog scheduled to be done before our final release in mid-January: https://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/60571054 Would be more than happy to have your help on this. Scott Frederick has also proposed using Homebrew...

Lately, it's started to feel like the number of features/fixes that are being skipped in the cf gem are starting to pile up, somewhat forcing me over to gcf. I'm sure I'm not alone in this feeling, and between that and people who want to be early adopters, I think it'd be a good idea to prioritize the package managers a bit higher. Just my thoughts.

It’s true, Ben, we’ve been putting all of our effort into the Go cf CLI. I’ll pull those stories up a bit higher. Tracker says we should get to them by the end of the month. That all depends on who’s here over the holidays…

There’s also this from Dr. Nic: http://cli.cloudfoundry.org/

There's a tap (https://github.com/xoebus/homebrew-cloudfoundry) which contains a version of gcf now.

I also use my own script https://gist.github.com/andypiper/7643792 to grab the latest on a regular basis.

@andypiper That @xoebus one is a copy of mine (note the commit message). It is out of date as of a couple of days ago though as they've changed the name from gcf to cf. You can keep up to date with my latest here.

May I ask, which is the more reliable and updated brew tab currently?

nebhale avatar nebhale commented on July 21, 2024

I'm keeping the formula in my personal tap (https://github.com/nebhale/homebrew-personal) up to date. As of today, it's the easiest way to build HEAD, but will also build 6.0 from it's tag.

That being said, it appears that this is actively being worked (you can check the Pivotal Tracker issue). There is a Pull Request (Homebrew/legacy-homebrew#26876) in the Homebrew repo for it as well.

I'd say that if you haven't installed it yet, I'd wait a day or two and use the official Homebrew once it's there.

Thanks, then I will see if it is possible for me to be patient and wait the two days. :-)

Otherwise I have a good resource with your tab @nebhale.

It's in there now, @jhiemer: brew install cloudfoundry-cli --HEAD Sorry that took so long, @nebhale.
