It's something in your setup like rclone cant find the service account json. I run all of my backups/restores to a team drive that has a service account .json. I place my sa file in /opt/sa/backup.json which is setup in rclone.conf. If Im restoring then I must manually copy that json to /opt/sa/ before I run a restore so rclone sees it otherwise how would my restored rclone.conf see it?

If you're asking preemptively if you can use an SA-auth instead of the documented oauth workflow, the answer is sure, you can do that.

Yep, it was a preemptive question. Didn't want to go through the whole process to find out it wouldn't work.
