I'd like to see OK and Cancel buttons. It's a little non-intuitive having to click anywhere else on the page to close the control. The Cancel button would be good for cases where you change a color and decide you just want to stick with the original.

Was this ever added? I definitely think it's needed based on my user testing

@noctivityinc Feel free to post any usability data you'd like to share.

As of right now, the control opens and closes on tab in/out and doesn't interfere with key presses, so it's very natural for keyboard users. It also closes when ESC is pressed.

For mouse/touch users, the control opens on click/touch and closes on any click/touch outside of the panel (the same behavior as a context menu).

I haven't heard many complaints about usability, so the close button started to seem like feature bloat. For those who insist they need one, consider:

  • Using an inline control inside your own dropdown (this would let you add whatever buttons you need, as well as additional fields, description text, etc.)
  • Attaching the hide method to your own close button
