You have too old of a version of Rust. str_split_once was introduced in 1.52.0.
Unsupported in 1.53.0. OutOfMemory in 1.54.0.
So either give 1.54.0 a try or you can download the latest build from the releases section :)

@reportaman as of 3263916, I've refactored parts of distant to now work with a MSRV of 1.51.0, which I believe will also fix your build challenges.
This is now tested as part of the automated CI and highlighted in both distant and distant-core READMEs, so thanks for bringing this to my attention. :)

@chipsenkbeil I upgraded rust to rustc 1.55.0 (c8dfcfe04 2021-09-06) and don't see this problem anymore! Thanks!
