Regex for labels doesn't properly handle labels with spaces about gmail HOT 3 OPEN

Could you give a specific example of the code you're running? The regex looks fine to me, and when I test with the label "deductable expense" it works fine.

In my program I wrote last night it had that as two entries in the list
that's returned.

It'd be great if you could share the code that you wrote, so we know exactly how it was caused, otherwise it's hard to guess what may have happened. And was the label exactly named "deductable expenses" (without quotes)?
