I just realized that something with the format-include-endings
switch does not work. I get the same output whether it is set true or false.
For me it's not a problem, since I want the output in this form anyway.

Indeed, this is a bug, thanks for reporting. The current version on bitbucket is not production ready, anyway. I'll make an official release to CTAN as soon as it is.
