I guess it depends on the nature of the block itself, for the moment I would prefer not to abstract the blocks too much until all the basics are covered (to have all default Arduino libraries included with the Arduino IDE). They would also need to work on all supported boards, and generate code that never causes a compilation error (if this is not technically possible, they should at the very least add a warning to the block itself).
Before I work on the block creator, I need to create the functionality to load blocks dynamically into the toolbox. The idea being that you'll have the basics loaded by default, and other blocks would then be available as additions to the toolbox via de application menu. For instance, you could have a very similar toolbox to the current one, and then have a menu in the menu bar to add the Seeed Studio Grove blocks.
Once that is implemented it should be relatively straight forward to create a new repository to contain user created blocks and be able to download them and add them to the toolbox via the desktop application.
