Have found a way to reproduce this, keep you posted once I figure out how to fix it.

I hope #265 fixes this one, if it doesn't occur in the lxd test suite for a while after this PR is merged, I will close this issue.

Do you think there's a correlation between this issue and the PR that started to finalize open segments when taking snapshots? From the PR description I would expect so, but just wanted to confirm it's due to that change.

This issue appeared before that PR, but the PR seems to make it occur more often (at least I was able to reproduce it, before I wasn't), my feeling is that there are probably still other ways to trigger it.
