also tried

  • kubectl get crd -o 'jsonpath={.items[*].metadata.name}' | xargs -n 1 | fgrep coreos.com | xargs
    kubectl delete crd

the server doesn't have a resource type "crd"

Hi @abhijt-zanak I see you're running Kubernetes v1.6.7. Unfortunately versions below 1.7.0 are not supported anymore. customresourcedefinitions, aka crd were thirdpartyresources aka tpr before 1.7. I think you were running an older version of Prometheus Operator.
