It looks like this error is not happening when retrieving the value from the data. The value is correctly retrieved and stored with the associated type "Number". The error arises when calling "parseInt" here:

While parseInt is a custom (base10 only) implementation in this case, the strconv.ParseInt also fails to parse scientific notation.

Both strconv.ParseFloat and jsonparser.GetFloat properly handle scientific notation. I'd recommend using jsonparser.GetFloat to get a Go-friendly numeric value from the string. Process the float further if you need to.
