This seems like an issue with ace? require() lets you do namespaces in the first place. Modules shouldn't be rolling their own require() functions unless they are themselves module loaders. Jade does the same nonsense.

To be fair, ace is a module loader, and their require() function seems pretty commonjsish

@pyrotechnick you could use my workaround plugin scopify which at least hides browserify's require in it's own function scope.

browserify is more careful about exporting require and process in 1.13.0
