we are a teamwork of the course FOSSoftware from UPF and we gonna try to solve that. Do you have more specific information about this issue that have to be mentioned?

Hey! Nice to see you've decided to work on this.
So what we would need is to build a couple of packages for different GNU/Linux distros. At least we'd need Debian/Ubuntu 32 bits, Debian/Ubuntu 64 bits, Fedora family 32 bits and Fedora family 64 bits.
A very important requisite is that the package build process should be automatable, which means you'll need to write a script that builds all these packages. In this way, every time we release a new version, we can just run this script and all packages will be built automatically.
