I'm in no way an expert on this, but I would go with duplicating the handle function, and remove the invoke line. The $numHandled should in this case return 0 if it is a not valid route.

Sorry, I’ve suddenly been very busy with work, and getting a new job. When I get time, I definitely like the layout of this router and will probably end up going the suggested route to add a test whether a route exists or not.
