This should probably be done at the shell level.

@weitjong : Maybe a great idea to do this would be a "spacer" alias that just do a tycat /path/to/spacer.png with the PNG being a beautiful line with shadows and such if you want. Terminology already comes with great tools to achieve such a thing I think :-).

That is a good idea. However, as they say, old habit die hard. I am just not sure how to alias the "pressing/holding the ENTER key" part.

I'm not sure you can either. But maybe you can learn to type "spacer" pretty quickly?
