The project may keep that issue open for a while, as I currently cannot modify my files anymore.
I will look for other ways to update, or maybe this just mean it's time to abandon github (though I've got no idea where to go at this time).

Managed to find an unsavory way to get around the fact that Github is at least dropping support for older browsers (but it's definitely worst than that in reality), but this issue probably won't even open again.
