I could expose the oned_as
argument of savemat
to the Oct2Py()
constructor. Would that help?
from oct2py.
I think that would be a great solution, since people using Scipy would already know that they should set oned_as when needed to ensure column vectors. Thanks!

OK this is beautiful! I git cloned your update, and then as a minimal working example:
import numpy as np
import oct2py
oc = oct2py.Oct2Py(oned_as='column')
x = np.array([1,2,3,4,5])
oc.size(x)
array([[5., 1.]])
where without oned_as it says array([[1., 5.]])
very nice, I've updated my blog at
http://blogs.bu.edu/mhirsch/2014/07/using-p-c-hansens-airtools-and-regutools-in-python-using-oct2py/
to refer people facing this challenge to your update (I'll update again to point to your new documentation, etc. upon formal release of 1.6.0)
