Thanks for the feedback @klonuo, I should be able to address both of these issues and have a new release out by the end of the week.

This fix relies on undocumented features in subprocess and doesn't seem to work in python 2.7

@KoFish, I just tried again on my Windows 7 box, running python 2.7, and I do not see a popup console. Can you describe your environment and under what conditions you are seeing one?
