Dear future me,
I've figured out how to integrate Taurus with InfluxDB 2.X.
The solution involves using the 1.x compatibility API of InfluxDB 2.7, which allows the use of a username and password for authentication, like in InfluxDB 1.x.
To create a 1.x-compatible authorization in InfluxDB 2.7, use the influx v1 auth create
command to grant read/write permissions to specific buckets with a new v1 auth username and password.
Here's a command example:
influx v1 auth create \
--read-bucket 00xX00o0X001 \
--write-bucket 00xX00o0X001 \
--username example-user
Note: An API token can be used instead of a password, but I found a dedicated password more reliable (however, I was probably doing something wrong).
I wish the Taurus developers would update the influxdb-reporter
module for better InfluxDB 2.x API support, anticipating the eventual deprecation of 1.x, but don't hold my breath.
Documentation on 1.x-compatible authorizations.
Yours truly,
Me
