bitbots_hardware's Issues

Sensor foot

  • potentiell Sensoren (Bänder), welche ermöglichen die Kraft der Ballberührung zu messen und auch den Schusswinkel estimaten
  • Mit IMUs, Wegezellen

Fix footpressure sensors

  1. Remove white gunk and try resoldering strain gauges
  2. Order new strain gauge foils (see Order project)
  3. Test new ADC chip in breadboard prototype

Test actual backlash in legs

To clarify if we need software changes we want to test the actual backlash of our legs/motors:

  • currently
  • with serviced/new motors

mobile robot stand

use aluminium profiles/extrusions to build a gallows (de: galgen) like structure to hold up the robot

3d printed case for nuc

We should try to print a case for the nuc to reduce the weight

It should be checked whether it is heat resistant enough.

redesign / change neck part

the neckpart broke frequently during robocup 2019,
it needs to be more stable by using a different material or design

the issues with this part may also be resolved by #1 because the head might be shorter

Leg reinforcement

  • Test doubling up the carbon sheets
  • Replace the worst gears
    • Measure backlash of servos using 3D-printed jig (see #40)
  • Use x-servos in hip pitch and roll (see #38)

CORE

Finish the controlling and regulating electronics

IO module

This module should have buttons and some LEDs for showing the robot state.

New footplate

We should have a new, more lightweight foot plate with guiding rails for the foot pressure sensors

Replace PC holder

Our current 3d-printed PC-holder parts are breaking.
Some may be too short?

Try with different materials (TPU or Carbon-reeinforced)

Reprint/Redesign torso bumpers

Currently, the quality of our torso bumpers is bad and they break.

We want to redo them (perhaps softer, in other materials?) and reevaluate them. Previously, evaluation has been done by letting robots fall and maximizing the time that bumpers compress.

Maybe get inspired by the designs of CIT brains or Rhoban.

Prevent computer shutdown

This happens, when servos use a lot of power
We could use a boost converter to stabilize voltage to the PC

- [ ] Order and test boost converter (see Order project)

Update August 2023:
Unwanted shutdowns still sometimes occur, but due to another suspected reason:
Our power plugs do not perfectly fit or are worn out. We want to replace them with better ones.

Prevent breaking of heads

  • Testing with existing print (Made in Bangkok)
  • Test other 3D printing materials/designs (e.g., Carbon fiber reinforced) → kindly ask German
  • Sheet metal?
  • Remove head pan joint? (see #36)
