hello, is this project operational? about jj2000 HOT 5 OPEN

Hi, I'm looking for the same thing. 

I know that JAI-imageio has a  modified version of jj2000 (under BSD license), 
but JAI doesn't seem to get much attention either these days. I'm thinking 
about forking one of these, if possible.

No, haven't heard anything from, so I assume the answer is no.
