The maximum size of image can not exceed 2000px. Could it be that you're uploading larger images?

I just uploaded two more test images, below 2000px. Same problem still occurs. Also, file permissions in the 'storage' and subdirectories are read/write for all users.

It is also possible that images you upload are smaller/larger than min/max image size in settings. For example if you change default values and minimum size is 500px, but you're uploading smaller images you'll get error message (check that in settings).
I assume you're using downloaded berta – does the same occurs in http://demo.berta.me? If not, then the problem is on server side and you must look into log files for error messages.

The files do upload well in demo.berta.me

One of them was too big, and I got a warning, but the rest continued to upload just fine. I only found one error log. It was in /public_html/engine

my-errors.log
Array
(
[min_width] =>
[min_height] =>
[max_width] => 480
[max_height] => 700
[max_orig_width] => 970
[max_orig_height] => 600
)

That's not the correct error log. Since you're using 000webhost, it might be possible that you cannot see the error log file for your server. You should check your webhosts control panel and your ftp server. It definitely should be outside berta folder.
If it's not there, you should contact 000webhost by email, concerning the location of error log files.

They cannot disclose the logs to me:

Hello,
I am afraid, for performance and security reasons we do not store error logs for individual users.

Any other ideas?

Hi, i'm also having the same problem, safe mode OFF, but worse - pictures NEVER appeared from the beginning.
i've also put the exact size of the width and height.

i'm using campusspeicher's hosting plan.

if this is the case, then i muss say that berta is very unflexible in handling the image content.
i've spent 19Euro and until now i couldn't fix the problem. :-(

can anybody give an advice on what else can be done?

@originalsurfmex We'll try to replicate the problem and get back with a solution.
@souldivina If you paid for hosting in our site you won't have such problems. It occurs just if you installed berta on your server and it is not configured properly.
