ID3 about stretto HOT 2 CLOSED

Yeh I want to add this feature at some point too. So far I have just been relying on other application to edit id3 tags and using the hard rescan option (right click a song to find this, or you can hard rescan your entire library) to reload the songs id3 info.

I will definitely add the use case of no id3 tags sometime soon. Submit a pull request if you want and I might just pull yours and make a few tweaks.

One of the reasons I have put this off is that musicmetadata (One of the libs I use for reading the id3 tags) only has read support. Taglib, the other library I use, has write support, but no cover art reading/writing. When either of these libraries fix this issue I will be more keen to implement this.

I think your idea of passing off the id3 fetching to a third party service sounds good, but I don't think shazam (or anyone) has an api for that stuff. Let me know if you find a good royalty free / open source one with node.js support.
