Hello Ben,
the MTP protocol supports three types of date for file system objects:
WPD_OBJECT_DATE_CREATED, WPD_OBJECT_DATE_MODIFIED and WPD_OBJECT_DATE_AUTHORED
If this data is not set correctly, it looks more like a problem in the MTP implementation of the device.
Have you tried this with several devices and if so with which ones?

Another idea would be to try out whether the WPD_OBJECT_PERSISTENT_UNIQUE_ID actually changes when you change a file. Eventually you can use that.

Hello Ralf,

I tested it on three different phones (Huawei P30, Huawei Mate 9 and Galaxy S5). On both Huawei phones, instead of the creation-date the copy-timestamp was used and on the Galaxy phone no timestamp was shown in the fileinfo. If the Windows Explorer was used to transfer the files, all three phones showed the correct creation-date in the fileinfo.

Is it possible that in the method UploadFile (in file "MediaDevicesShare/Internal/Item.cs") the implementation to transfer the creation-date (WPD.OBJECT_DATE_CREATED) is missing?

Or is there another option to overwrite the creation-date after uploading a file to the phone?

Best regards,
Ben
