Good question!

Unplugging can be done by ending the stream. You can end the stream, for instance, by applying takeUntil:

stream = @node.children().asEventStream("click").takeUntil(@reRender)

Now @rerender should be a Bus, because takeUntil expects a stream. So let's change the constructor:

 constructor: (@node) -> # @node istanceof jQuery
  @bus = new Bacon.Bus()
  @reRender = new Bacon.Bus()
  @reRender.onValue (data) ->
    @node.get(0).innerHTML = ""
    @render (data)

Now you can re-render by calling reRender.push(newData).

Does this help?

So, personally I prefer a more declarative style, using takeUntil/takeWhile. In fact, the "unplug" feature could be added for consistency. I suggest

unplug = bus.plug(stream)
...
unplug()

This would be consistent with how subscribe and onValue work.

Any thoughts on that?
