The linked docs are for the older Azure AD Graph API which is being deprecated in favor of the newer Microsoft Graph API.
Based on the blog post Microsoft Graph or the Azure AD Graph, Azure AD Graph is currently in a mode where new features will not be added and only security updates will be provided.
Please try out the newer the @microsoft/microsoft-graph-client package instead and log any issues you find with it or related REST APIs in https://github.com/microsoftgraph/msgraph-sdk-javascript.
