What to change if I want to find altcoin nodes? about bitnodes HOT 5 CLOSED

A quick look reveals https://github.com/ayeowch/bitnodes/blob/master/protocol.py#L93 where you change the protocol params to match the altcoin, and https://github.com/ayeowch/bitnodes/blob/master/crawl.conf#L10 is a resource which returns the current block height for the coin.

I'd recommend updating the protocol.Connection.handshake() to work for the altcoin nodes and try talking to one of the nodes simply by running python protocol.py with a valid address and port set in the main()'s to_addr.

You will need to populate seeds.json with known altcoin nodes if you wish to use crawl.py.
