I've peeked into the source, and indeed it seems that what is reported back is the speed at which .NET's HttpClient reads the input stream into memory. Since I think its default buffer is 2GB, it's effectively measuring the read speed of my SSD.

I peeked around the net, but I don't think there's an easy way to use HttpClient trivially and get upload progress.

Thanks for letting us know and taking a look at the source. We will do some investigation to see if we can find a better solution to reporting progress.
