Im cool with that...
I'll devote more of my time to Aura in weeks to come... I have some family
emergency going on... :(
On Tue, Aug 21, 2012 at 9:44 AM, Addy Osmani [email protected]:
We've discussed for a while the idea of renaming the project to Aura,
eventually moving the Backbone-Aura extension part of it to a separate repo
or just leaving it in the repo as a plugin of some sort.As GitHub don't promise to handle redirects, renaming this repo would mean
breaking links to articles pointing at backbone-aura, but otherwise should
be okay. Anyone against this change?—

@robertd no worries. The very best of luck with the emergency being resolved well!
@dustinboston @rudolfrck @gersongoulart @dustinboston thoughts about the rename?
from aura.
yeah Aura feels better.
better get it over with since it is going to cause breaks. reminder: I guess remote url's will break too?

@tony That's a good point. Reading through http://cobaltedge.com/renaming-a-github-account-and-forked-reposito at the moment in case it can shed some light on this.

@addyosmani I think it should be fine since we keep this repo with a read me file that links to the new one, so everyone who comes here from an article or such can find the new address.
from aura.
@gersongoulart Actually, that gives me an idea. We might as well create the new backbone-aura repo right after I rename this one and can just use it as a placeholder with info on where to find the new one. Solves all issues :)
from aura.
@addyosmani Are you wanting to move this repo out of your account? If not, backbone-aura can stay as is and we can just add an Aura repo at addyosmani/aura... Then there aren't any problems to solve.
from aura.
@dustinboston I was thinking of keeping this project as the main one for now as it has the existing watchers and I feel people might be more interested in the architecture over the extension for now. Pros for Aura being the new repo? :)

Logo I put together for the project rename. Thoughts? :)

Love it.

look nice

@addyosmani great idea, and great logo. For the background though I'd use more purple/pink/blue, like the OSX default wallpaper colors... I think these have more to do with the idea of Aura for some reason. :P Love the font you chose!

Nice logo :) Go for it!

Looks awesome :)
Would love to see it on a more aura-ish background. Something like this (ignore the foreground widget):

Definitely. I'll experiment further with it this evening.
@sindresorhus I love that background. I'll see if I can do something similar.

@addyosmani Yes, I like! If possible, would like to see the text a little bit less flat and opaque white.
from aura.
@sindresorhus when you say less flat, do you mean with an edge to the text like
?
from aura.
@addyosmani Yes, almost, send me the psd and I'll show you what I mean.

@sindresorhus's suggested typeface treatments actually look pretty good. Here's the final product of this threads efforts:

@addyosmani Love it. Really nice work.

@dustinboston Thanks!

Closing as the rename has been completed. I've also created the empty backbone-aura repo that points back to here for anyone wondering where its gone to :)
