For reference, OP is referring specifically to @fthx's https://github.com/fthx/dock-from-dash ; I can confirm that this extension is quite nice (it takes the simplest approach compared to dash-to-dock or dash-to-panel: it just reuses the official GNOME Shell dash widget but shows it outside the overview when you want it, so it is pretty simple and less fragile than other extensions).
Presumably, blur-my-shell could reuse its "Dash to Dock" blur settings from its Dash section:
β¦and support both extensions behind the scenes, renaming the labels to:
"Dash to Dock" and "Dock from Dash" blur
Blur the background of the dock created by those extensions, if you use any of these two.
from blur-my-shell.
Glad to see that some users do like the way my extension works.
Took me a long time to crawl into GNOME Shell for this. ;-)
But TBH I do daily use https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/6230/bottom-overview/ rather that Dock from dash.
And the light TaskBar https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/6556/task-up/ that has the same approach, aka do not recreate everything. If you want the dash in panel, same light approach : https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5143/dashbar/ .
End of advertising. :-))
If I can help for the topic, no problem.
