P.S.
I am sure they are not running because I don't see any logs and I also tried to breakpoint with debugger.
the only output I get is this:

Never mind. I found the error... what a dumbass...
I accidentally have the "register" only called in the ELSE of mock in the constructor - i.e. only for non mocks.
