I do not think this is something we're going to look in to building as the actual technicalities of producing separate stylesheets from a mixin are really quite hard, possibly impractical/impossible, and, possibly more importantly, the technique as described in the link actually runs counter to the best practice of content specific breakpoints instead of device specific breakpoints, which we are trying to encourage. My suggestion to you would be to use Breakpoint as it's currently intended to be used, and to write IE specific layout partials imported into an IE specific Sass file to override your single column they would normally get.

With all of this being said, as with any other open source project, patches always welcome. If you'd like to see this, build it and issue a pull request and we'll take a look.
