This is actually trickier than it should be - I switched to use the api's "search", from "wbsearch", so it would match more completely, not just starting strings - but "search" only does full text searching, so it's matching not just items with that label or alias (as wbsearch does) but items with those strings ANYWHERE. So it hits the 500 limit (what I set it to) pretty quickly. I think this is a reasonable approach though, so going with it for now. The search API could use to be improved though!
