I am not sure if this is the same issue or not:
When there is no GPS lock. blowing into the pitot tube causes the pitch to go negative. This seems to happen regardless of the flight mode.
Use of the pitot tube has also been reported to cause decrease in altitude when in RTL mode:

DCM is as good as its going to get. EKF is the primary solution algorithm now so I am closing this issue.
