Guided mode in Mission planner alt incorrect about ardupilot HOT 7 CLOSED

guided mode uses relative alts. and is designed that way. ie 600, would be 600 above you home alt.

Well why is that? That is not intuitive. If I am say in loiter mode at 500 feet above me, why would I want to calculate how high I am relatively? It would be easier and more intuitive to select guided mode and altitude above home ... every other altitude that I use is relative to my home altitude not my altitude + elevation..

the altitude is above home. home is relative 0.
so 500 feet would be
home + 500 asl.
or 500 agl

i think ive found the problem. guided mode is working in meters. so 600 feet is actualy 600 meters.

Could guided mode be set to operate on whatever settings are in configuration? so if I'm in feet , then it works in feet?

That is great! I really like the guided mode, but I don't calculate meters to feet in my head very good with everything else that is usually going on at the time. thanks!
