This can be done but the output of running the script will be returned to the PHP script only after the entire python script has completed execution. Do you want this?

Yes.

We could have all the logs stored somewhere. i.e after completing any scripting operation append to the log file. And view the log later, to see what went wrong with the script.

Possible?

Cool idea. I did this recently.
Specifics:

  • Redirect the script output to a file (changing the command) say in logs/log_[timestamp]
  • Create a log reader module to read this log anytime

But I'll keep this for the weekend. Is that okay?

Yup. This can be done in a separate branch as well.

Importance Level: Low.

This is done. Log reader is ready. It has a progress bar depending upon the completion ratio and gets auto filled as the script progresses. Check this out on linux. The effect won't appear on windows for now. I need to discuss the output format of the python scripts so we can accommodate the same working on windows.
