I had same issue when I was running it on macOS 13.0.1.
After I update macOS to 13.1 beta4 and run it again, I got image that's not grey one.

I have a similar issue when using --compute-units cpuAndGPU. Try using all instead or omitting the parameter completely to get images.
Perhaps an issue because I'm running it on macOS 13.0.1 instead of 13.1 beta? I have no answer.

Using --compute-units all it crash for me, same as in #5 :-) Will wait for 13.1

Updated to 13.1 and got only, and it looks it stop improving image after step 5.
--compute-units all still crash, and --compute-units .cpuAndGpu was used.
