Question: how do we get the client secret injected into the application without it being public?

It turns out that github does not support OAuth flows for javascript apps (implicit grant type). Instead, we'll need to ask the user for her github credentials on a custom login page. The custom login page should authenticate the user by issuing a github api request to obtain the user's information.
Note that the custom login page should explain why we're asking for creds (and not performing OAuth to github).
