One work around for this issue is to exclude the offending bean-validator jar
configurations {
all*.exclude group: 'org.glassfish.hk2.external', module: 'bean-validator'
}
Microserver should either exclude the Jar or force the latest version to be included (if that fixes this issue).

Currently forcing an upgrade to the latest bean-validator doesn't fix this, so it must be excluded when hibernate 5 is used.
